The train in Bangkok is an efficient way of travelling long distance and to other cities of Thailand. It also helps elevate traffic from the city centre. Another thing if you want to go to neighbouring countries like Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia and Cambodia, and then just ride their train. It is an inexpensive mode of travel that lets you see other places.
The Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) otherwise called Skytrain started its operation in December 5, 1999 with 23 stations along two lines namely Sukhumvit and Silom. The route of Sukhumvit run eastwards and northwards and terminates at On Nut and Mo Chit. The Silom lines runs in the business centre of Bangkok and terminates in National Stadium and Saphan Taksin.
