Cabs/Taxi

There are many taxis and cabs in Thailand that can take you to your destinations whether it is for short or long travel. It is also much cheaper to ride a taxi than a “tuktuk” since most taxis are metered. However, taxis from the airport to some cities in Thailand like Pattaya can cost you around 1000 Baht depending on your arrangement with the driver.

If you are looking for a taxi to your hotel in case they have no shuttle then it can cost you around:

• Taxi queue charge     =    50 Baht
• Tollway charge    =    65 Baht
• Taxi charge        =    350 to 400 Baht

so approximately 465 to 515 Baht

For meter taxis in the city the start up rate during the first few kilometres is 35 Baht and the succeeding kilometres is less than 15 Baht. Since, Thailand is a tourist destination few taxi drivers are honest that is why before you ride a taxi ask them if its metered, otherwise they might charge 500 Baht or more.
